About Us

The numbers tell part of the story: 4.7 stars across 57 reviews, a full-service bar with a live bartender, and a meeting room spacious enough to host fundraising banquets for the whole community. Walterboro Elks Lodge 1988 on Milestone Lane has earned that reputation the old-fashioned way, by showing up for people year after year.

Step inside and you'll find something that's harder to manufacture than a nice building: a genuinely friendly crowd. Members greet strangers like regulars, the bar is stocked and staffed, and the facilities are kept in shape for everything from private banquets to Tuesday night bingo open to the public. You don't need an Elks card to walk through the door for bingo night.

The lodge operates as a cornerstone of Walterboro, SC civic life, channeling Elks traditions of charity, justice, and brotherly love into real, local action. Fundraisers held here put money back into the community. Gatherings here bring people together who might not otherwise share a table. That's what a lodge is supposed to do, and Lodge 1988 delivers.

What We Offer

The lodge's event rental space is one of the best-kept secrets in Colleton County. Groups have used it for fundraising banquets, club meetings, and private celebrations, all with access to a fully staffed bar that reviewers consistently call a standout perk. If you're planning an event and need a venue that handles the hospitality side professionally, this is worth a serious look.

Weekly bingo nights on Tuesdays are open to the public, no membership required. Show up, grab a card, and enjoy a relaxed evening with a welcoming crowd. The lodge also hosts regular member events, community fundraisers, and Elks-sponsored charitable programs that benefit youth, veterans, and local families throughout the Walterboro area.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks brings additional benefits: access to the lounge, voting rights on lodge initiatives, and the chance to participate in national programs that have supported American communities since 1868.

"We rented the meeting room for a fund raising banquet. The Elks were very friendly to deal with and the facilities were excellent. Having a full bar with bar tender was a huge benefit. If you are thinking about a meeting, banquet, reception or any social event where you will need a large room, tables prepared, restrooms, I door climate control, excellent lighting, even a bar, I highly recommend you consider the Walterboro Elk's lodge."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
